Apple Crisp

Ingredients

Filling

  • 4 medium sized apples cut into wedges
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Heaping ¼ teaspoon cinnamon

Topping:

  • 1 cup old-fashioned (whole) oats
  • ½ cup flour
  • ½ cup pecans chopped (can sub other nuts or seeds)
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons cold butter
  • Sprinkle brown sugar

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Toss apples with filling ingredients. Transfer to a greased baking dish.
  • Mix first four topping ingredients. Fold in butter with hands until crumbly, and sprinkle over filling. Add more butter as needed (topping should be in crumbles).
  • Sprinkle brown sugar on top.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes until topping is golden.
  • Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for dessert - or with some yogurt for breakfast!
