What the experience includes:

Our cooking classes are a one-of-a-kind experience. You’ll be cooking a meal all focused on the farm’s produce we are visiting. We bring all the equipment to have a fully functioning kitchen on a farm! At the end we will sit down to enjoy the meal we have all created.

What we’ll be cookin:

Our guest chef, Nathan Mayes, will lead us through asada, or Mexican-style grilling techniques. You’l learn how to:

  • How create a flavorful marinade
  • Grilling meat and veggies over a live fire
  • Create salsas using grilled and fresh ingredients
  • Build your own tacos

*Recipes can fit most dietary restrictions/allergies as long as you let us know before hand when checking out!

More about Nathan Mayes:

Nathan is a local chef who enjoys cooking with seasonal and local products and creating bold flavors from scratch. Nathan is the Chef at Paloma and Esquina in Santa Fe as well as the taco pop up Mañana Taco in Albuquerque. Learn more about Nathan and the incredibly beautiful dishes he creates in this article.

More about Old Town Farm/Bike in Coffee:

Old Town Farm is situated on 12 acres in one of the most historic settings in New Mexico. This beautiful outdoor setting also hosts Bike in Coffee Wednesday through Sunday where you can hear live music, grab food, and enjoy the scenery. We couldn’t think of more perfect setting for a fall cooking class!

Who is this class for?

This class is for someone who wants a unique cooking experience. You’ll learn about local farms, sustainability, nutrition, and cooking techniques. Our recipes focus on teaching you how to utilize and cook with seasonal produce, but it doesn’t matter if you are a vegetarian, vegan, or carnivore – we all need to eat more plants!

Whether you’re a beginner or more seasoned cook, everyone can learn from our classes. We always have extra staff who can help with additional instruction if needed.
